Poker is mainly a game of skill and luck. It's possible to win a game with great skill and no luck at all, but it's always nice to have some luck at the very least. Experience and knowledge of the rules beforehand are also major factors, of course.

A loss is nothing to be sore over, Caspian.

Macbeth, is it? I would say the curse had some connection to betrayal or over ambitiousness, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

It's not my turn to do the laundry this week, but I'll handle it, regardless.

[ooc: Y, cursed. In a slight funk, so replies will be a bit slow!]

where did forever go?
What would you do if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?

not ic cut )

It took me approximately three days to work out. While I have no frame of reference, I'm sure others have completed it in much less time. Learning how to manipulate the cube took up most of my time, and after I found a strategy it came along smoothly.

If I was given another chance at it, I'm sure I could cut down my solution time drastically.

This curse isn't bad, comparatively.

I don't understand why anyone would complain about aging, but I suppose my situation is different.

ooc: On painkillers, will be slow!

Would anyone know how to dispose of a basilisk head?

We really need start stocking up on cold packs.

To Pevensies & Caspian

If no one has any objections, I think we should move into the house Lucy and Edmund found. It would be better for all of us if we had a little more space.

Susan, I don't suppose you want to discuss what happened?

ooc: Still packing, so I'll pick up threads later! Action, comment, either way is fine.

blowing wind against my face
It was nice to have three days of snow, but I think I prefer the warmer weather.

Edmund, is there anything you want me to bring from home when I visit later? Anything but sweets.

Private to Caspian

If you still want to move out, I won't stop you. I don't have the authority over such matters in the City, after all.

Is it really due to the fact we're overcrowded, or is there another reason?

slipping in and out of focus
Is the city supposed to be Arabian today? I suppose it's better than having monsters run around the city, but it does make me wonder what the point to these curses really is.

It reminds me of that movie, The Thief of Bagdad, at least. Who would play the role of Abu?

[ooc: stepping out! Will pick up threads when I get back.]

So this network is basically a collection of public diary entries?

I've never kept a journal before, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to start now. It does feel a bit ...girly though, and I still don't see why anyone would want to make their thoughts public.

[ooc: Edit: Dropping out to head to work. Will pick up threads later]

I keep hearing mention of a Prohibition.

I remember there was a Prohibition act in America a few years ago, but not much beyond that. I was sure it had ended. And after seeing Blue's apartment the other day...

What year is this?

[ooc: for clarification, I'm not assuming Peter remembers the prohibition. More of an assumption that it was mentioned in a paper or glossed over in a class briefly]

[Peter's in the kitchen, searching the fridge for typical sandwich making materials. He's not doing anything particularly important. It's a good opportunity to bother him.]

ooc: Another blantantly ripped off idea from CFUD. This is a general interaction post, in case a character needs to interact. You don't even need a reason, although that may make threading easier!

still resisting that urge
I still have a ton of habits left over from CFUD

Comment, and I'll write how Peter feels about your characters! First impressions, etc. I swing any way. I might take forever to get back to you, depending on what I'm doing, or how well I/Peter/Jake knows your character.

Me: Mireille, Mir, or Fiend.  3rd one is a bit of an inside joke, but I will respond to it.  Warning, I call my friends fiend too, so if you ever read a conversation where we're referring to 'fiend', it's usually to each other.  If you say fiend, I'll go "yeah?"  It's much like JD and the girl names!

I Play: Peter, Billy, Rose Red, Molly

Available on: GTalk usually after 3 pm.  AIM usually after 10 PM, e-mail all day.  Sometimes I'm not on at all, and that usually means I'm bogged down in work!   I still check my e-mail, so e-mail away.

Timezone/Language: Central time. I do have a really weird sleep schedule (or lack of one), so I'll usually be up from 8am-2am.  I'm trying to fix my sleep schedule at the minute though, so who knows.

Thread Dropping: If I do, it's probably because I went afk, or never got/saw the gmail notification. I'll also end a thread if it's getting to the point where I feel it's slightly uncomfortable, aka close to 4th wall, or something that would make a character uncomfortable.  Usually if its a comfort issue, I'll try to switch the conversation away from that or try to let you know ooc.  If you ever want me to pick up a thread, just contact me!  I usually drop things that go past a certain date, mainly because it feels like I'm bringing up old stuff no one wants to see.

late post is late. I've been taking Peter's personality more from the movies, which I wrote someplace is a bit more aggressive than how he's protrayed in the books. But leave a comment if you sense a problems/whatever, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

screened.
